Web Conference Reflections for Instructional Leadership

Web Conference reflections:

#1: I was unable to attend so I read the transcript for this web conference (February 10, 2013.) Many of the concerns that were being expressed by students had to do with saving week 4 assignments in TK20 so that you did not submit it without adding week 5.  The questions were answered and students were able to properly save the assignment. There was also a lot of discussion from participants who were interested in learning more about PBL and had brought information back to their campus administrators.
This web conference allowed students to gain clarification on the assignment and share concerns about TK20, future courses and graduation.

#2 Web conference from February 13, 2013 – I was unable to attend but was able to read through the video transcripts.  The main topic for this web conference was certification opportunities and graduation issues. I know that a lot of people were shocked to find out that we wouldn’t actually get our degree until August. I think many thought we would receive it in May, when we were finished with the course work. The conversation was heavy on discussing ILD and PDAS with lot’s of discussion over what was really expected. May of the students are concerned about reporting on their Action Research Project. They were encouraged to join the Lamar study group page on Facebook. I have actually gotten a lot of clarification from reading through web conference notes , I am glad that this resource is available.

#3  Web conference from February 3, 2013 – I was unable to attend but read through the video transcripts. Many of the participants were discussing assignments 2 and 3.  There was also some mention of when we would have time to put our campus-based site hours into our TK20.  It was said that we would have time in week 3 of 5398. I was glad that this was talked about because this is an area I have been worried about. I have completed my intern hours but need to do the write up.
There were several others that seemed to be in the same boat as me.

#4 Web Conference from February 17, 2013- I was able to attend!!! We were given clarification over when our intern hours were actually due. This was very beneficial to me. The web conference took a pretty big turn half way through to a discussion about flipped instruction. I thought it was interesting to hear from educators that are experiencing it at different levels.  It is fun to see that during this web conference people are able to share information that they can research and take back to their schools!
